NBA top 100: Lu Dort dealt to Hawks as list moves for first time since debut

The first roster change since the July 11 debut: Oklahoma City's salary-dump trade sends Lu Dort to Atlanta, updating the list at No. 70 with no rank movement elsewhere.

Lu Dort traded to Hawks in OKC's three-team salary dump

The first roster change to hit the top 100 since the debut landed Sunday, when the Oklahoma City Thunder traded Lu Dort to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team deal that also sent 2024 No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher to Dallas and guard Ryan Nembhard to Atlanta (Shams Charania, ESPN).

Oklahoma City picked up three second-round picks and a $17.7 million trade exception and ducked under the second tax apron. General manager Sam Presti told The Oklahoman the move was "a financial decision," the third cost-cutting trade of the Thunder's summer after earlier deals shipping out Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins. Combined, the three moves shed more than $200 million in payroll and tax penalties.

Dort stays at No. 70. The trade moves his team tag from Oklahoma City to Atlanta, where he joins a Hawks perimeter defense already featuring Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, but it does not change his individual value. The 27-year-old is a 2025 All-Defensive First Team selection and Thunder champion whose offense slipped last season, down to 8.3 points on .385/.344 shooting across 69 games and just 5.5 points in 15 playoff outings. He is the same player in a different uniform, so the rank holds while the team updates. Atlanta was openly shopping for wing help and views Dort as extension-eligible throughout the 2026-27 league year, with a long-term future possible if the fit clicks.
